This private Palm Springs resort home was the former home of the legendary Hollywood photographer Bruno Bernard who is credited with discovering Marilyn Monroe. "Bernard of Hollywood" is world-renowned for capturing some of the most famous and iconic images of Hollywood celebrities.

One of the outstanding features of this private Palm Springs pool villa is its large private grounds with lush green landscaping, splendid up-close mountain vistas. This home is located in one of Palm Springs finest neighborhoods, Vista Las Palmas, less than 5 minutes to downtown Palm Springs.

Completely updated in 2006, this Palm Springs Alexander home was built in 1959 by the acclaimed Alexander Company and architects William Kriesel. The home features soaring ceilings, clerestory windows, bright open spaces, and the warmth and openness of exposed post and beam construction.

This Palm Springs Alexander is a great example of the wonderful indoor-outdoor living that makes Palm Springs such a popular year-round resort destination. The Palm Springs pool villa features great open spaces, splendid views of Palm trees and lush green landscaping.

The private pool is large and deep - excellent for swimming and lounging - plus the 6 person whirlpool spa features a waterfall that flows into the pool. Near the pool is a large koi pond and waterfall providing soothing and relaxing ambience.

This private Palm Springs resort rental home is open and bright with walls of glass, giant sliding doors opening on to the private patios and pool area. Each of the three bedrooms is bright and sun-filled with new furnishings and whimsical art touches. The master bedroom features its own private patio and both the master bedroom and master bathroom open onto the outside.

This midcentury modern home was completely restored and updated in 2006 and features all new deluxe appliances, linens, bedding, furnishings, and art.

The vacation home is located near the village of downtown Palm Springs with easy access to Palm Springs shopping, art galleries, restaurants, attractions and entertainment.

Great House

"Outstanding mountain view, spacious living room with fireplace and view to the pool and mountain. Unfortunately they were building a house right behind the pool so every morning at 7am we were woken up by carpenters and builders pounding. And this continued most of the day until they quite at 3pm (Sunday excepted only). "

Very Relaxing

"Very relaxing. Beautiful grounds, pond with waterfall and fish, pool, mountain views. The grounds, pool and pond were all maintained very professionally and regularly. Would be nice to have more comfortable chairs in living room (couch was great; however chairs were uncomfortable and coming apart). Kitchen chair seats were coated with a sticky-type substance, so we suspect they need to either be replaced or reupholstered. Refrigerator ice-maker was marginally operable and leaking water onto the floor. The kitchen sink spout has a crack in it that causes it to leak badly and needs to be replaced. Latch for livingroom screen doors was either inoperable or missing (we couldn't figure out which). (Thank you for making us aware of these issues. We will coordinate with the homeowner to have them resolved. - Tim in Property Management) The Vacation Palm Springs team members we dealt with were all very helpful, especially Portia, who was extremely helpful and patient with us. "

"Talk About Your Mountain View!"

"It was really perfect. The beds were so comfortable and the pool and mountains and grounds and pond with waterfall was wonderful Issues: 1: Fridge didn't close real well and no ice maker. 2: Couldn't figure out how to use jacuzzi. But overall great place, would want to stay in same place next time. Thank you for the feedback. Always Our Favorite Place

"We love staying at his house. We rent from Vacation Palm Springs several times a year, and have tried other houses, this is our favorite. Might want to think about upgrading the TVs, but we are not really there to watch TV anyway. The staff at Vacation Palm Springs is the best. We strayed once to another company and our vaca was ruined. We always recommend Vacation Palm Springs. "

Great Pool and Yard!

"We had a great weekend - perfect location to house both grandma and a toddler for the weekend. The yard was great for a kid, the pool and spa were easy to figure out how to use and the perfect temperature. The house was clean, charming and quiet with a beautiful view of the mountains, and a short ride to downtown. The reservation team and property managers were very friendly, very accommodating and quick to respond. Alexander Pool Villa - McBeth April 2011

"The yard/landscaping is beautiful, nice and private. The house was comfortable. We were never able to get the pool and spa temperature regulated. Heating the spa, made the pool too hot. Tried to follow the instructions given, but there didn't seem to be a way to get the spa warm and the pool cool. Very frustrating. Also, we were 6 adults and there were only 5 lounge chairs, would have liked to have had 6 minimum....additional outdoor furniture would have been nice for the price we paid. Inside, we were surprised there was no shampoo supplied and one tiny bar of soap. We ran out of toilet paper and had to make a special trip to the store to buy some, so better basic provisions would have been appreciated. A few extra pool towels would have been good too. I dealt with both Justin and Sergio, and both were great. I would however recommend Vacation Palm Springs. "

Fabulous Pool !

"We were very happy with the Alexander house. The house was nicer than the pictures and the pool and backyard were amazing. The first part of the week was during one of the worst storms in PS in a long time, but we had a nice cozy house and still swam every day in the heated pool. Ok, we're from Portland, so the rain didn't bother us as much as some people. My fourteen year old averaged 4 swims a day. Minor point would be a few more drawers for flat clothes...perhaps an old dresser in the large closet ?? Another thing would be a few throw blankets in the living room.....however we were there during a storm so that might be unnecessary for most of the year. Nice service. Very smooth. I did everything on line and then called just to talk to a human. ( a very nice human) No glitches at all. "

Privacy, Location, Views

"The great location and privacy with the view we had was second to none. This experience has spoiled us from ever wanting to stay in a hotel again! There are a few items that the home needs: More plastic glasses, extra beach towels, dressers in the bedrooms, extra flotation chairs for the pool, new lounge chairs to replace the plastic ones. New chaises have been added for a total of 4. - Scott Reservations staff were friendly and efficient. It was comforting to know that the property managers were available day + night! They were very prompt, courteous + helpful. "

Lush Landscaped Privacy Can Be Addictive

"Alexander Villa is very tastefully decorated. However, what awaits the weary traveller as he steps through the sliding glass doors to the back patio is beyond lovely. The lanscaping is lush and the koi pond soothing. Night swims were romantic accompanied as we were by the croaking of frogs who were outdone only by the beautiful morning songs of what appeared to be dozens of different birds. We especially enjoyed our daily visits from a pair of lovelorn Roadrunners about whom we learned (from Google of course) that they mate for life. We had a great time and were saddened that we had to leave. As I said the house was terrific but it definitely should have a sound system of some kind. Notwithstanding the PS noise ordinances it would still be nice to listen to music insside the home. Great and responsive service and the house was just as it was represented. I also think - as a returning guest - that your company should try to do more in the way of specials to lure back returning guests. Self-serving I know but in the end it might get us back more often. "
