Nestled across 2.1 landscaped acres in Rancho Mirage, this remarkable 8 bedroom, 10 bathroom, 9,071 sq ft, estate is flanked by some of the most gorgeous mountain views imaginable.

An abundance of vibrant, picturesque details will catch your eye and capture your imagination the instant you enter this gated private retreat. From the tropical lagoon, two sparkling waterfalls and resort size pool; to the lighted tennis court and horse shoe pit — you will feel immersed in a regal setting from first glance.

"Harpo was an imp, on and off stage… Harpo used to play golf at Tamarisk Country Club. He'd wear his swimming shorts. There were houses, lining the course, and everyone had a swimming pool. Harpo would play a little golf. Then, he'd jump in someone's pool, cool off, play some more golf, and then jump in someone else's pool. If you heard a splash, it was Harpo. Harpo wasn't really making an effort to be liked. Harpo was genuinely likable, lovable and pixieish."

Located in the upscale community of Rancho Mirage, The Harpo Marx Estate served as a private oasis for the actor and his family for over two decades. Set within the private Tamarisk Country Club, the home was commissioned by Marx in 1956. Acclaimed mid-century architect to the stars, Wallace Neff, was charged with the task of forging the perfect desert compound for the whimsical celebrity.

The magnificent Harpo Marx Estate (lovingly dubbed "El Rancho Harpo"), stands today as an official historical landmark. This property was approved as a Rancho Mirage Historical Resource in 2007, per its outstanding architectural merit and historic personage. The Marx Brothers are credited as the founding members of the Tamarisk Country Club.
