Palm Springs Mid Century Gem

"The home was well decorated and was relatively well appointed, especially the bedding. The outdoor furniture could use an upgrade as well. All in all a great house for a Palm Springs holiday. The kitchen was not very well stocked. Glassware and china was sub par and could use an upgrade. Also the home had no iPod docking ability. In the end I purchased a chord at Radio Shack so that we could listen to music. Justin is very professional and a great resource to use while booking a house. "

Fantastic Outdoor Space.

"The pool was really fantastic, definitely large enough for my friends and me. There is also a beautifully maintained lawn that's great to lounge in. There are also mature fruit trees and the grapefruits are incredibly yummy - definitely made for a great snack. The indoor space is quite nice, although some of the beds were on the older side and were quite squeaky. The kitchen and dining room areas were also a little tight, but overall, we spent so much more time outdoors anyway that it didn't matter much. This house met all my expectations. Great customer service from Vacation Palm Springs. Very responsive. "

Great Place & Service

"We loved the house, the decor, and especially the pool. Personally we would have liked a flat screen tv in the living room & maybe even took out the tv's in the bedrooms. But this was just minor. Reservations and property management was great. We had the AC and Electrical go out in the house due to a lizard in the circuit breaker - and the response was great. "

A Perfect "Place in Time" to Unwind.

"If you are after an authentic mid century experience then this house is a great place to start. While the home is of a modest size, the expansive private garden and pool area is ideal for a group getaway. Tastefully furnished, lovely linens, and equiuped with just abput everything you need. The home shows a few signs of wear consistent with it's age. I would like to see all of the garden lights working when I return. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, update the TV's to flat screens! THe losting states there is a flat screen in the master bedroom, but this is not correct. Such a small investment would make a big difference. Some attention to minor things like torn lampshades etc would also be welcome. "

Amazing Decor but Could Use a Few Updates

"The decor in the house was AMAZING! I loved the furnishings in ever room, and we also really liked how each bedroom had it's own bathroom. So nice to have to share a bathroom. The toilet in the master bathroom ran the entire time we were there. We called to get it fixed, and someone did come, but never fixed the solution, so we ended up turning the water off every night so the sound of the toilet filling and running wouldn't wake us up. The backyard furniture was also super uncomfortable and they didn't have enough lounge chairs (only 2) but the house sleeps 6, so 4 would have been nice. Overall the bathroom and backyard need some attention to make this a 5 star house. "

Finest Mid-century House I Have Rented!

"I am a long time Vacation Palm Springs client and usually rent a house in Palm Springs 2 or 3 times a year. I love Mid Century homes and try to rent a different one each time to get the variety as they are all different in so many ways. This is my favorite one so far, and I will break my record of a new place each time to come back here again as we enjoyed it so much. House is like a Mid Century museum with such a great combination of period furnishings and built ins combined with modern conveniences such as super fast wi fi, great bedding and towels and showers with plenty of hot water and everything a modern hotel would have. The back yard is also stunning with beautiful landscaping and tall hedges for privacy and stunning grass and fruit trees, a great bar b que, multiple sitting areas, an outdoor fireplace, great bar b que and beautiful pool. A bathroom for each bedroom is nice, and great open fireplace in the living room is really fun. Not a large house but really cozy and private and being the last house on a dead end street is really nice. Everything was spotless and worked as it should. The only thing I would add are modern flatscreens in the living room and the three bedrooms. I don't even watch TV so not an issue with me, but would be a nice touch for most people and flatscreens are so inexpensive these day. But that wojuld not affect my decision to rebook this grat house again! The best thing about Vacation Palm Springs is the ease of booking and checking in and checking out. I am always last minute so found the house i liked on the website and then called and spoke to Nate and I had my contract in a few minutes and the house was ready for me when I arrived a few hours later with the pool heated and everything perfect. "

Review

"Overall the property was fine, but based on the photos online, we were really expecting more. Bedroom decor was completely different in 2 of the 3 bedrooms, kitchen only had dining seating for 4 people, patio furniture is rusty and uncomfortable, and there was no outdoor firepit. I would suggest putting a path from the patio to the hot tub. The area was extremely muddy, so dirt and grass not only get into the hot tub, but all over the patio floor. (Thank you for the feedback. 5150 Tour - We Loved It!

"Excellent floor plan for 5 of us gals. Liked the very secluded back yard with a 12 foot hedge all the way around. Kitchen is well equipped, plenty of beach and bath towels, beds were comfy and we enjoyed the great room and pool as well. Wish there was a IPod docking station with speakers, having the CD and Radio player in a closet in the bedroom a bit inconvenient. Better signage regarding the BBQ as it didn't light easily and I had to call the property manager, also a sign posted near the thermostat regarding leaving the temperature at 76 degrees. There was a sign buried in the binder but not signed anywhere else. Outdoor furniture needs to be updated, the cushions were small, old and didn't fit the furniture which was weathered and cracked. Not a deal killer, but with new furniture the place would be a 10+ for SURE! Reservations went smoothly, property managers were very responsive as well. "

"We loved the open floor and the privacy of the home. There were plenty of soft linens and towels, a working washer-dryer, and other amenities. Every surface of the home was clean, no dust anywhere. We loved the original kitchen & fixtures. Don't change the kitchen at all! The home needs a citrus juicer. The cushions on the patio furniture are dirty. The window sills and sliding door tracks were filthy. A first aid kit and fire extinguisher would be nice. Yard is junky - get rid of the broken or out of use items. The home needs a citrus juicer. Please notify us right away of any cleanliness items once arriving at a vacation property. Fun, Well Decorated

"The property was very well decorated and we found that to be really fun. We loved the gigantic hedges in the back yard for privacy and overall neatness. Great Midcentury Home - Expansive Backyard.

"This property was wonderful and we would rent it again. The outdoor area with expansive lawn, well sized pool and shaded patio was everything we had hope for. Our kids loved running around on the lawn and playing under the two fruit trees. The home itself was a midcentury gem. The interior was stylishly designed and we enjoyed the mix of vintage and new pieces. One of the best features of the home was that each bedroom had it's own fully updated bathroom. We hope we can come back again next year! It was a very special place. The kitchen was a bit small. No counter space. It could use an island. The dining area was also small for number of people the home could accommodate. But the rest of the home and garden areas and pool made up for it! The rental agency was very accommodating - letting us arrive a little earlier and stay a bit later then checkout which made a huge difference for us. "

An Incredible Place in Time

"The property was exquisite. We loved the house. There was plenty of room for our entire family. The pool and yard were beautiful. It was a perfect respite for our time in Palm Springs. This is a lovely property for a small group or family. The neighborhood is quiet and the entire property is secluded due to the high hedge around the backyard. Although you are in a subdivision, you have the feeling of complete privacy. We loved the mid-century feel of the home and the furnishings. I was never a fan of the the 1950s, but this property has turned my head. The reservation process went smoothly. When we arrived the pool had not been cleaned and we called the property manager hotline. Scott had someone there within the hour to clean the pool and it was great for the entire time that we were there. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and I would most certainly rent it again myself. "

"The house was great. It was clean but the kitchen was pretty old. We loved the back yard, great place for family with kids. I would defiantly recommend to others who want to enjoy their stay in a nice quite neighborhood with a great yard, pool and furniture. We had a little problem in one of the bathroom which was fixed quickly by just contacting on call manager. We loved it. The only things that need to be changed are: Kitchen cabinets which are old. Not enough appliances, e.g. can opener, utensils, knives that work etc. Cesar was very nice and worked with us to get the house that was a perfect fit for us. We changed the house several times and he was very patient. I would defiantly recommend friends and family. I already did. "

"we were very happy, but there were a few probs that did sort of effect our stay. the back bedroom was absolutely freezing and the middle bedroom was boiling hot!! we had some issues with the DVD players and had to switch them around...one should really be on the main tv in the livingroom (one in a bedroom was broken) really, that was it!!! the rental process was SO easy and the management was super nice and very attentive when our pool heater broke. we needed some good hikes to go on, you guys should consider including maps to some. the visitor's center was sort of useless with that info! maybe a calendar of events? Mark did a great job trying to get our pool heater fixed. "
